SS HALSEY

| The Halsey was a
433 foot tanker that was built in 1920. In May 1942, the Halsey was
steaming from Corpus Christi, TX to New York with a volatile petroleum
cargo , when she entered the patrol area of the German submarine U-333.
Split apart by the sub’s torpedoes, the Halsey now lies in three
sections off Fort Pierce, FL in 65 fsw. |
